Gambling and Poker Website Reviews and tips for newbies.

About me... I am a online poker player and have been for 6 years. Had my swings of up and downs like most everyone else. But as the saying goes, in order to wing big sometimes you have to lose big. (I have done my share of both)

Tips for newbies...
  1. Learn the game. (it is a duh but needs to be said)
  2. Stay in the games where your pocketbook isn't affected. (ie. When you play in a game thats too much money for you, you will end up making many poor decisions or as its been called "playing scared") This may mean a 3-6 game or as it was for me I played at the penny tables and worked myself up to a level where I could play and not worry about the money.
  3. Don't get type casted. (ie. Vary your play style from time to time, if you play like a rock change it up now and then and play loose)
  4. Take regular breaks. (this is very important, dont burn yourself out to where you end up mindlessly clicking away because your bored)
  5. Watch for raising idiots. (I absolutely love this type of player, a guy who raises every single hand is bound to go broke. Just wait till you got a good hand and sock it to him)
  6. Make goals and STICK TO THEM! (money management is vital in poker. Sometimes your hot sometimes your not. You need to be able to stop when you hit your goals or when you lose your starting bank. If you lose your starting buy-in or win your goal amount I suggest a cool down period of 24 hours. Do this till its complete habit)
  7. Make your goals realistic (Don't think that your are going to win every chip in sight, you wont. Example goals for me say on a 3-6 limit table: Buy in $100 Goal $60 profit. Loss limit: $45 If I hit either one I am done for the day.
  8. Play at your level...(this means play with players you know you can beat. If you are sitting at a table getting your clock cleaned...LEAVE)
  9. Have Fun (remember its a game, if your not having fun its time to stop playing)
Best of luck to you.

Ultimate Bet - 4 outta 5 stars
This is where I play about 70% of the time.
Ultimatebet is one of the more established poker sites and they have the endorsement of many "poker stars". These stars include Poker Champs like Jim Albrecht, Annie Duke, Russ Hamilton, Phil Hellmuth, Mansour Matloubi, Jack McClelland and Dave "Devilfish" Elliot. With all these known poker geniuses contributing to their site, you can be assured the poker will be at a top level. Ultimatebet prides themselves on being true to the game of poker and is making efforts to create a poker community where people from everywhere can come to learn, explore, and play the game of poker. They are developing into the number one poker site on the net.

Best tables to make money?
My opinion is that the 1-2 dollar limit games are the best, due to the crappy play at that level. I have regularly made 100-200 a day at that level.
Suggested buy in for the 1-2 limit, 30-50 dollars

Promotions?
Use Bonus Code " GAME " and get 100% extra up to $500 on your first deposit. Promotions is an area where Ultimatebet excels. They have introduced their pro tables where you can sit down and find yourself playing at a table with poker professionals like Phil Hellmuth. They are also trying to implement chances for players to play heads up against big time professional poker players. Cashing out money at Ultimatebet is fairly easy but unfortunatley there is a 72 hour waiting period between deposits to empty your account. They will send you any amount you cash out under $2000 via regular mail and if your check is for more than $2000, they will express mail it to you for free.
